ERIN'S APPROACH TO WEDDING PHOTGRAPHY
Erin is an active, award-winning member of the WPJA and the [AG]WPJA.

For me, wedding photography isn’t only about documenting the day from beginning to end with a beautiful mix of candids and formals, but also about my dedication to getting shots that truly reveal the full range of emotions that you, your family, and friends were feeling on your wedding day.
The Consultation
Unless you live out of town and we are unable to meet in person, I always prefer meeting with couples before they book their wedding dates with me. During these meetings we can get to know each other a bit, you can review sample albums, you can tell me more about your wedding day plans, and I can help walk you through your photography options to help you find the the package that is right for you. Since I am often booked more than a year in advance, I like to meet with my couples for a second time about 1-2 weeks before the wedding. During this second meeting, we can walk through your finalized timeline, as well as come up with the list of formals you would like to have taken on your wedding day.
The Wedding Day
I approach weddings as a professional, personable, reliable, friendly, and organized photographer. I am passionate about my work and I love shooting weddings. I talk and interact with wedding party members and guests, but when it comes to taking photographs, I encourage my subjects to “pretend I’m not here” for the majority of the day. This most likely comes from my background in photojournalism…I’ve been taught to watch events naturally evolve, rather than molding them into what I think they should be.
Formals
There is one part of the day where I discard the “pretend I’m not here” approach altogether. During the “Formals” part of the day where we shoot from your list of posed and group photos, we round everyone up and I keep us moving through each shot to make this portion of the day as quick and painless as possible. Some couples prefer more formal photos than others, but we’ll talk about your preferences before the wedding day to make sure we’re getting shots that are most important to you. We can do your formal session before or after the ceremony. Either way, I will help make sure we have enough time allotted in your schedule to get these important shots taken.
Professional Albums & Photographs
Once you receive your final collection of professionally-edited wedding photographs, it's time to start thinking about how to display them in your home. You'll probably want prints of your photographs to hang on your walls, as well as a beautiful album to show off to your family and friends. I offer a beautiful selection of professional photographs and albums. You can either opt to have these included in your package, or you can purchase them a la carte after your wedding. I’ll be more than happy to walk you through all of your options during our first meeting. |
